Importance of Concomitant Abnormal Papillary Muscle Resection in Patients with Hypertrophic Obstructive Cardiomyopathy

목적 : There are some different approaches and techniques of septal myectomy in patients with hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy. However, whatever approaches and techniques are used, abnormal papillary muscles contributing obstructive physiology should be resected carefully.

방법 : We reports short example video clips of our recent myectomy experience which required papillary muscle procedure.

결과 : In our cases, when the papillary muscle abnormality was missed, residual left ventricular outflow tract obstruction remained even after myectomy. The obstruction was resolved after resection of those abnormal papillary muscles. Patients in this video clips were discharged without any adverse event and free from symptom.

결론 : Resecting abnormal papillary muscle is an important procedure in some patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
